Alcohol Awareness Week in Hackney

Between 13th November 2017 and the 17th November 2017, Hackney Recovery Service and Young Hackney worked in partnership to promote Alcohol Awareness week. The theme was ‘How Alcohol Impacts on the Family’

HRS and Young Hackney staff manned a stall at Hackney Service Centre (Hillman Street) and Tesco (Morning Lane) and posters were displayed around services to raise awareness. HRS had a quiz with its service users with a winning prize of 50 Capital Cards points. Our aim was to engage with members of the general public to raise awareness around alcohol and its impact on families.

The event was very successful and we were able to reach out to a number of service users and Hackney resident, raising awareness of the impact of alcohol and services available to support individuals who may need or wish support to address their alcohol consumption and individuals who may be concerned about a friend or family member’s alcohol use.

If you would like further information regarding the impact of alcohol, services available or advice regarding a close one’s alcohol use, do not hesitate to contact us by phone or drop in during our opening hours.
